Scholarship Requirements:

  • Minimum Cumulative GPA 2.5

  • Major: Any

  • Enrolled at BYU-Hawaii for 12 credit hours per semester (6 credits per term)

  • Abide by the Honor Code of the University

  • Hold an AFROTC Professional Officer Course (POC) allocation (2.5- and 2-year scholarship applicants) or successfully compete for an allocation at a later date (3.5- and 3-year applicants) prior to term of activation used HBCU program

  • Prior to the term of activation you must have completed at least one term of full-time college-level work (does not include college-level work during high school) and have at least 24 semester hours of college-level credits

  • Meet weight, fitness, medical, age, citizenship, Air Force Officer Qualifying Test score and other eligibility requirements

 

Total Amount: Up to $15,000, and 2-3 years worth of books and tuition.

Award Information:
Students are selected for scholarships on a best qualified basis. Recipients must participate in the AFROTC program, and successfully complete a field training encampment after selection for a POC allocation. After completing all AFROTC program and degree requirements, students will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force and serve a minimum of 4 years on active duty.
