What is the difference between the Primary and Secondary Distribution of private scholarships?
Most private scholarships are advertised in March and awarded for the following academic school year, which are distributed during the fall and winter semesters. This is what we refer to as the primary distribution period.
A secondary distribution is often advertised in October for the following winter semester. The secondary distribution is extremely limited, because it only includes scholarships that were not awarded during the primary distribution and any new scholarships that were recently established.
Because there are very few scholarships offered during the secondary distribution, only students who have not received a private scholarship during the school year may apply. In addition, each student may only apply for one private scholarship offered during the secondary distribution.
