At Brigham Young University - Hawaii, we recognize that in addition to academic preparation, our students need to have good work habits and basic job skills to succeed after graduation. We provide many opportunities to develop or reinforce these skills through our Student Employment Program. The goals of the Student Employment program are simple:
Give students a source of income:
If you are looking for extra spending money while at college, the Student Employment program may be your best option. Several opportunities exist on campus, off campus, or at the Polynesian Cultural Center that could provide you with a convenient job and consistent paychecks.
Locate possible career opportunities:
While at Brigham Young University - Hawaii, you may identify more than one career choice available to you after graduation. Through the Student Employment program, you can gain exposure to several jobs. These jobs may help you narrow down your after-college choices.
Gain valuable experience:
Once you have a chosen career path, you can look for jobs on campus or at the Polynesian Cultural Center that will give you valuable experience in that field.
Learn basic job skills:
The skills you learn stay with you for the rest of your career. Our students learn the value of punctuality, communication, time management, and cooperation.
Provide the university with a valuable service:
Your position on campus helps this university runs more efficiently. Student employment not only assists students financially and professionally, but it can also help students develop a sense of community and belonging. Student jobs are one of the easiest ways to get involved with campus life almost immediately.
The Student Employment Office, located on the first floor of the Snow Administration Building, is open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday except holidays. You can reach our office by dialing extension 3749 on campus or (808) 293-3749 from an off campus phone.
