April 2, 2008 Seasiders Win Easily
Mobile, AL—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team blasted their way to any easy win on the road today as they defeated Tuskegee 9-0 to improve to 18-0 for the season. The Seasiders lost only two games in the three doubles matches and two games in the six singles matches as they won their 78th in a row in their latest winning streak. Top-ranked Elwen Li took a 6-0, 6-0 win at the first singles slot while sixth-ranked Maggie Deng was winning 6-1, 6-0 at number two singles. Li and Deng, ranked number one in doubles play in NCAA II as well, swept their doubles match 8-0 at the top slot. Jenny Chin won 6-0, 6-0 at number five singles and her doubles partner, Ayako Ikeda, took a similar 6-0, 6-0 win at number six. They also won their doubles match at the third spot 8-1. Ramona Husaru teamed with Becky Lu for the win at number two doubles by the same 8-1 score. Husaru breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at number four singles while Lu completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number three singles. BYU–Hawaii will complete their suspended match with West Florida tomorrow in Pensacola, Florida. Results: Singles: Doubles:
