Janelle Selfaison hits a return during today's doubles play

Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team breezed past Chaminade today with a 9-0 sweep for their 74th straight win to improve to 14-0 for the season. The Seasiders swept all six singles matches without losing a set before cruising through the three doubles matches with ease.

Becky Lu won in both singles and doubles without losing a game today for the Seasiders. She took a 6-0, 6-0 win at number five singles before teaming with Janelle Selfaison for an 8-0 win at the third doubles position. Selfaison won her match at number six singles by a 6-3, 6-3 score. Top-ranked Elwen Li and sixth-ranked Maggie Deng each won their singles matches at the top two spots by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores and then teamed for an 8-1 doubles win at the top spot. Ayako Ikeda breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at the fourth singles position and then teamed with Jenny Chin for an 8-2 win at number two doubles. Chin claimed a win at number three singles by a 6-0, 7-6(2) score.

The Seasiders will play Mills College (CA) tomorrow in Laie at 2:00 pm HST.
