Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team swept NAIA member Albertson College of Idaho today, 9-0, to improve to 3-0 for the season and record their 63rd consecutive dual match win. The Seasiders opened the day by sweeping through the doubles matches while losing just one game and then breezed through the singles matches easily for the win.

Freshmen Ayako Ikeda and Jenny Chin swept their doubles opponents 8-0 and then recorded identical shutout wins at number five and six singles respectively, 6-0, 6-0. Maggie Deng and Elwen Li, ranked number one nationally in doubles, also blanked their doubles opponents by an 8-0 score before securing easy wins at number three and number one singles respectively. Becky Lu and Ramona Husaru won at number two doubles 8-1 and the each raced to singles wins at the second and fourth slots while losing just a game apiece.

The Seasiders will face Chaminade tomorrow in Laie at 2:00 pm HST.
