Seasiders Win Regional

Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team shook off the rust of not having played a match for 25 days to defeat UC San Diego in the NCAA II West Regional Tennis Tournament today to earn a trip to the national tournament. The Seasiders swept all three doubles matches and then picked up wins at number two and number five singles to roll to the 5-0 win and improve to 26-0 for the season. BYU–Hawaii has won 86 consecutive dual matches during its latest winning streak.

Seasiders Top PacWest

St. George, UT—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team won the Pacific West Conference championship today by defeating Hawaii Pacific 5-1 at the Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West Conference Tournament. The Seasiders took two of the three doubles matches and then picked up wins in three singles matches as they improved to 25-0 for the season and won for the 85th consecutive time.

Seasiders Open Tournament with Win

St. George, UT—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team breezed past Chaminade today with a 9-0 sweep in the second round of the Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West Conference Tournament. The Seasiders, who received a first-round bye in the tournament as the top seed, won every match in straight sets as they improved to 24-0 for the season and won for the 84th consecutive time.

Seasiders Win Twice

St. George, UT—The number-one-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team dominated two Pacific West Conference opponents today, defeating Grand Canyon 6-0 in the morning and then overwhelming Notre Dame de Namur 7-0 in the afternoon to improve to 23-0 for the season. The Seasiders swept every match that was completed in the two wins and were leading in all the other matches when play was halted by agreement. The wins put the current BYU–Hawaii winning streak at 83 dual matches.

Seasiders Roll

St. George, UT—The number one-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated Dixie State today, 9-0, to improve to 21-0 for the season. The Seasiders breezed to the win, losing only two doubles games and taking all six singles matches in straight sets. The win was the 81st consecutive dual match win for BYU–Hawaii.

Seasiders Defeat #4 Valdosta

Pensacola, FL—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated fourth-ranked Valdosta State today, 7-1, to improve to a perfect 20-0 for the season. The Seasiders swept all three doubles matches and took four of the five completed singles matches to extend their current winning streak to an even 80 matches.

Top-Ranked Seasiders Drop West Florida

Pensacola, FL—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team faced their toughest test of the season today and powered their way to a 7-2 victory over 16th-ranked West Florida in a match that was suspended by rain on April 1st. The Seasiders took two of the three doubles matches and then won five of the six singles matches to claim the win as they improved to 19-0 for the season and extended their current winning streak to 79 matches.

Seasiders Win Easily

Mobile, AL—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team blasted their way to any easy win on the road today as they defeated Tuskegee 9-0 to improve to 18-0 for the season. The Seasiders lost only two games in the three doubles matches and two games in the six singles matches as they won their 78th in a row in their latest winning streak.

Women Keep Rolling

Mobile, AL—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team breezed to any easy win on the road today as they defeated West Alabama 9-0 to improve to 17-0 for the season. The Seasiders did not lose a single game in sweeping the three doubles matches and then claimed all six singles matches without giving up more than two games in any set. The win was the 77th in a row in BYU–Hawaii’s latest winning streak.

Women Sweep UH-Hilo

Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated UH-Hilo for the fourth time this season today, 6-0, to improve to 16-0 for the season. The Seasiders swept all six singles matches and the doubles matches were not played. The win was the 76th in a row in BYU–Hawaii’s latest winning streak.

BYUH Grinds Mills

Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team breezed past Mills College (CA) today with a 9-0 sweep for their 75th straight win to improve to 15-0 for the season. The Seasiders overwhelmed Mills by winning every game but one during the competition.

Women Cruise

Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team breezed past Chaminade today with a 9-0 sweep for their 74th straight win to improve to 14-0 for the season. The Seasiders swept all six singles matches without losing a set before cruising through the three doubles matches with ease.

Seasiders Chew Up Big Red

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team won their 13th match of the season today with a 9-0 sweep of Division I Cornell. The Seasiders, ranked number one in NCAA II play, swept the doubles matches and then took all six singles matches as well to run their record to 13-0 this season. It was the 73rd consecutive win for BYU–Hawaii.

Seasiders Knock Off William Jewell

Laie, HI-Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team won for the second straight day with a 9-0 victory over visiting William Jewell from Missouri in Laie today. The Seasiders won their 72nd consecutive match with the win today.

Women Win 6-0

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team began their busy week well with a 6-0 victory over rival UH-Hilo in Laie today. The Seasiders won their matches against the visiting Vulcans just in time before the rain set in and before the double matches could finish or the men's game could play.

Women Keep Rollling

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team had a strong showing on the tennis courts today posting a 8-1 victory over visiting Division 1 Illinois State in Laie. The number one nationally ranked Seasiders were effective today by winning their matches against the visiting Redbirds who have battled two tough nationally-ranked teams so far in the month of March.

Seasiders Drop Emory

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team continued their winning ways today with a 9-0 sweep of NCAA III power Emory (GA). The Seasiders, ranked number one in NCAA II play, powered their way past the fourth-ranked visitors to run their record to 9-0 this season. It was the 69th consecutive win for BYU–Hawaii.

Coach Porter Gets 1,000th Win

Laie, HI—Brigham Young University Hawaii Tennis Coach David Porter joined a very elite group of coaches today as his women’s tennis team defeated Dixie State today 9-0 to give Porter his 1,000th career win as a head coach. Porter, now in his 16th year leading the women’s program, won his 452nd match with the women to go with the 548 victories he has notched in just over 23 years with the men’s program to reach the milestone.

Seasiders Keep Rolling

Waipio, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team kept up their winning streak with a 9-0 sweep of Chaminade today for their 67th straight win and 300th in their last 302 matches. The win also marked the 999th career dual match win for BYU–Hawaii Head Coach David Porter. Porter has now won 548 times as coach of the men’s team and 451 times with the women’s team.

Women Sweep Again

Hilo, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team improved to 6-0 for the season today with a second straight 9-0 sweep of UH-Hilo on the road. The Seasiders won all three doubles matches handily and then breezed through the six singles matches in straight sets for their 66th straight win and 299th in their last 301 matches.

Women Sweep Vulcans

Hilo, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team improved to 5-0 for the season today with a 9-0 sweep of UH-Hilo on the road. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches handily and won all six singles matches in straight sets for their 65th straight win and 298th in their last 300 matches.

Seasiders Drill Chaminade

Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team continued their winning ways with a 9-0 sweep of Chaminade today for their 64th straight win and 297th in their last 299 matches. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches handily and won all six singles matches in straight sets.

Seasiders Blitz Albertson

Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team swept NAIA member Albertson College of Idaho today, 9-0, to improve to 3-0 for the season and record their 63rd consecutive dual match win. The Seasiders opened the day by sweeping through the doubles matches while losing just one game and then breezed through the singles matches easily for the win.

Seasiders Win Again

Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team swept 11th-ranked NCAA III member Gustavus Adolphus today, 9-0, to improve to 2-0 for the season and record their 62nd consecutive dual match win. The Seasiders opened the day by sweeping all six singles matches in straight sets before winning the three doubles matches by comfortable margins.

Top-ranked Women Win Opener

Waipio, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team opened the season today with a 9-0 sweep of Chaminade for their 61st straight win. The Seasiders dropped just two games in sweeping the three doubles matches and won all six singles matches in straight sets.

Li Wins Title

Mobile, AL—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Elwen Li completed a sweep of the NCAA II titles today at the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) National Tournament when she won the singles title to go with the doubles title she won yesterday with partner Maggie Deng. In today’s singles final Li defeated second-seeded Johanna Dahlback of Armstrong Atlantic State, 6-0, 4-6, 6-4, to claim the title.

Seasiders Take Doubles Crown

Mobile, AL—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Maggie Deng and Elwen Li won the NCAA II doubles title today at the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) National Tournament. The Seasiders defeated second-seeded Irene Squillaci and Aina Rafolomanantsiatosika of Abilene Christian 6-1, 6-2 in the finals.

Seasiders Open with Wins

Mobile, AL—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Maggie Deng and Elwen Li opened play today at the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) National Tournament in winning fashion. The Seasiders duo won twice in doubles, including a win over the tournament’s top-seeded team, and Li won her only singles match of the day.

Seasiders Sweep

Pomona, CA—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Maggie Deng and Elwen Li powered their way to titles today at the Wilson/ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) West Regionals. The Seasiders played each other in the singles championship to start the day, with Li claiming the crown, and then paired up for wins in the doubles semifinals and finals to give BYU–Hawaii a sweep of the women’s crowns.

Deng, Li Advance

Pomona, CA—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Maggie Deng and Elwen Li continued their winning ways today at the Wilson/ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) West Regionals. The Seasiders each won a pair of singles matches in straight sets and then whitewashed their opponents in their only doubles match of the day. Deng is seeded number one in singles play and the duo is seeded number one in doubles.

Women Open Regionals with Wins

Pomona, CA—Brigham Young University Hawaii’s Maggie Deng and Elwen Li each won their opening singles matches at the Wilson/ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) West Regionals today. The Seasiders received a bye in doubles play today but will play both singles and doubles tomorrow as the tournament continues. Deng is seeded number one in singles play and the duo is seeded number one in doubles.
