Seasiders Lose Finale

Hilo, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s basketball closed out their second season of existence with a 68-44 loss to UH-Hilo tonight in Pacific West Conference action. The Seasiders out-rebounded the Vulcans 50-41 but couldn’t overcome a cold shooting night that saw them hit 12-51 from the field (23.5 percent) and 2-21 (9.5 percent) from beyond the three-point line.

Richelle Fenenbock hit both of the Seasiders three-pointers and scored 18 points to lead BYU–Hawaii. Lei Lolohea added 13 points and notched a double-double with ten rebounds. Hoku Holdcraft pulled down eight rebounds and dished out four assists for the Seasiders while Madison Kite chipped in five points and five rebounds.

Sheila Azevedo scored 18 points to lead the Vulcans, now 10-15 for the season and 10-8 in the PacWest. Ashley Kualii added 12 points for UH-Hilo

The Seasiders finish the season with a 5-22 overall record and end up 5-13 in the Pacific West Conference.
