Seasiders End Season with Losses
Laie, HI-The Brigham Young University Hawaii women's softball team went
down fighting in their last doubleheader of the season today, losing to
Chaminade 5-3 in the first game and 3-2 in 11 innings in the year's last
game.
The Seasiders took a 2-1 lead into the seventh inning of the second game
but could not hold on. Hard-luck pitcher Kassiopeia Hood lost her third
extra-inning game of the season on a wild pitch in the eleventh. Susanna
Wilcox drove in both BYU Hawaii runs with a single in the fifth.
BYU Hawaii also led 2-1 in the first game but gave up three runs to the
Silverswords in the fifth to fall behind. Lyza Halas had three of the
Seasiders' nine hits in the opener but it wasn't enough.
BYU Hawaii ends the season with a 2-18 record in the Pacific West Conference
and a 10-30 overall mark.
