Seasiders Drop Two

Laie, HI- The Brigham Young University Hawaii women's softball team lost a doubleheader to UH-Hilo today by scores of 3-2 and 6-0.

The Seasiders held a 2-1 lead going into the seventh inning of the first game but could not hold on. The Vulcans capitalized on BYU Hawaii miscues to tie the game on a single by Kayla Kahuli. Hilo won it in the eighth on a single by Nancy Vega.

The second game was all Vulcans as Taysha Anderson shut out the Seasiders on five hits. Hilo broke open a 1-0 game with four runs in the sixth inning helped out by a pair of Seasider errors.

UH-Hilo improves to 31-15 overall and 13-3 in the Pacific West Conference. BYU Hawaii drops to 10-26 and 2-16. The Seasiders will conclude the season on Tuesday by hosting Chaminade in a doubleheader.
