Men Sweep

Ben Stevenson (shown in earlier action) picked up a pair of wins today for the Seasiders

Mobile, AL—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis team defeated Tuskegee today 9-0 to improve to 8-1 for the season. The Seasiders swept the three doubles matches with ease and won all six singles matches in straight sets for the win.

In today’s doubles action, Marvin So’onalole and Rong Ma picked up an 8-0 win at the top doubles position while Junichi Shimoda and Manu Bajpai took an 8-3 win at number two doubles and Agnel Gladwin Peter and Ben Stevenson scored an 8-1 win at the third spot.

In singles action, Ma romped to a 6-0, 6-0 win at number one singles, Bajpai scored a 6-3, 6-0 victory at number two singles, and Stevenson breezed to a 6-1, 6-1 win at the third slot. Peter worked his way to a 6-4, 7-5 win at number three singles, So’onalole cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win at number five, and Shimoda polished off a 6-4, 6-1 win at the sixth position.

The Seasiders will face Valdosta State on Friday in Pensacola, Florida.
