| September 25, 2007Seasiders Fall to Lumberjacks
Arcata, CA—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s soccer team brought their marathon road trip to an end today with a 2-0 loss at Humboldt State. The Seasiders, playing their sixth road match in nine days and playing for the third day in a row, nevertheless put up a battle before finally succumbing to the pressure from the Lumberjacks late in the second half. Despite being out shot 19-10, the Seasiders kept the Lumberjacks at bay until the 78th minute when Humboldt State scored on a header by Tim Haden off a free kick by Jon Eseman. Eseman then scored the final goal of the game in the 80th minute on a penalty kick. BYU–Hawaii goalie Doug Hansen made seven saves in the game as the Seasiders fell to 5-6 for the season. BYU–Hawaii will play on the road again on Saturday but this time it will be a little closer to home as they take on Chaminade in Honolulu at 2:00 pm HST.
