| September 24, 2007Road-Weary Seasiders Fall to Otters
Seaside, CA—The road-weary Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s soccer team, playing their fifth road match in eight days, dropped a 5-1 non-conference decision to Cal State-Monterey Bay today. The Seasiders were out-shot by the Otters 28-13 as they fell back to the .500 mark at 5-5 for the season. Cal State-Monterey Bay scored three times in the first half, while holding the Seasiders scoreless, on goals by Kyle Satow in the sixth minute, Nate Toricelli in the tenth minute, and Andrew Burkhammer in the 20th minute. Burkhammer added another goal in the second half in the 61st minute before Ben Stevens scored the only goal of the day for the Seasiders off a pass from Michael Akinaka in the 70th minute. Kyle Millerick closed out the scoring with a goal in the 88th minute for the Otters at they improved to 3-2-2 for the season. BYU–Hawaii will face Humboldt State tomorrow in Arcata, California at 4:00 pm PDT as they conclude their six-game road trip to the mainland.
