| October 6, 2007Seasiders Come Up Short in Hilo
Hilo, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s soccer team lost to UH-Hilo tonight 2-1 to fall to 6-8 for the season and 2-3 in the Pacific West Conference. The Seasiders were out-shot by the Vulcans 10-3 for the game and 6-1 in the first half when UH-Hilo took a 1-0 lead. Luis Lanz scored in the 16th minute with an assist from Gene Okamura to put UH-Hilo ahead for good. In the second half, Carlos Lopez scored on a pass from Lanz in the 54th minute to give the Vulcans a 2-0 lead. Brian Noguera got the Seasiders on the board with a one-on-one goal following a pass from Shawn Blymiller in the 79th minute but BYU–Hawaii couldn’t come up with a tying goal. The Seasiders will face Chaminade on October 20th at 1:30 pm HST in Laie in another PacWest matchup.
