Quick Facts Season | March 31, 2008 Seasiders in Arizona Tourney
Goodyear, AZ—The Brigham Young University-Hawaii men’s golf team shot a two-round score of 610 today, good for 16th place in a crowded field at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational held on the par 72 Palm Valley Golf Club course in Goodyear, Arizona. The Seasiders shot a team total of 302 during the day’s opening round and finished at 308 in the afternoon round to better their team score from last year by 12 strokes after two rounds. Brandon Van Dyke shot a one-under-par 71 in the first round and followed up with a 75 for a two-over 146 score that left him in a tie for 21st place in the tournament to lead the Seasiders. Kyle Kunioka carded 73-77--150, good for a tie for 51st place while Brett Puterbaugh and Derek Hall each finished the two rounds at 157 to end up in a tie for 87th place to round out the team scoring. Josh Coon also competed for the Seasiders and shot 167 for the day. Central Oklahoma leads the tournament with a team score of 564 and Jeff Dagg of Wayland Baptist leads the individual scoring with an eight-under 136 total. The tournament will conclude tomorrow. |
