Livermore, CA—The Brigham Young University-Hawaii men’s golf team completed the first two rounds of the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational today at the Poppy Ridge Golf Club with a team score of 626 putting them in 14th place in the tournament. The Seasiders trail St. Martin’s by just four strokes heading into tomorrow’s final round. BYU-Hawaii’s Kyle Kunioka followed up a first-round 78 with a second-round 76 to lead the Seasiders with a 154 total, good for a tie for 41st place on the par 72 course. Derek Hall shot 79-77-156 for his two rounds today to put him in a tie for 52nd overall. Brett Puterbaugh carded rounds of 76 and 83 for a 159 total and a tie for 60th while Brandon Van Dyke (84-78) and Joshua Coon (79-83) each finished at 162 to tie for the 65th spot. CSU-East Bay leads the team scoring with a 579 total while Brent Witcher of Valdosta State leads the individual scoring with a 72-64-146, eight-under-par total.
