La Jolla, CA—The 28th-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s
tennis team suffered just their third defeat of the season today, losing
5-0 to 18th-ranked UC San Diego, in the NCAA II West Regional. The Seasiders
finished the season with an 8-3 mark while the Tritons improved to 11-11
and will move on to the national tournament in Houston, Texas.
Laie, HI—The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii
women’s tennis team shook off the rust of not having played a match
for 25 days to defeat UC San Diego in the NCAA II West Regional Tennis
Tournament today to earn a trip to the national tournament. The Seasiders
swept all three doubles matches and then picked up wins at number two and
number five singles to roll to the 5-0 win and improve to 26-0 for the
season. BYU–Hawaii has won 86 consecutive dual matches during its
latest winning streak.
Laie, HI—Brigham Young University-Hawaii held its annual athletic
awards banquets recently to honor athletes from the current and past year.
Women’s tennis player Jing Jing Liu and men’s cross country
runner Golden Harper were honored as Seasider Athletes of the Year in
the top awards given and outgoing seniors were given special recognition.

men’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Hawaiian Airlines
Pacific West Conference Championship Tournament today at Turtle Bay’s
Palmer Course. The Seasiders shot a team total of 321 today on the par
72 course to outpace sixth-place Hawaii Pacific by ten shots.

men’s golf team remained in fifth place after day two of the Hawaiian
Airlines Pacific West Conference Championship Tournament today at Turtle
Bay’s Palmer Course. The Seasiders shot a team total of 318 today,
12 better than yesterday’s round, on the par 72 course but couldn’t
gain ground on fourth-place Dixie State as they trail the Rebels by ten
strokes entering tomorrow’s final round.

the season today with a pair of non-conference losses to Chaminade at Central
Oahu Regional Park. The Seasiders fell short in the first game 8-2 and
dropped the nightcap 4-2 to the Silverswords.

Waipio, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii softball team defeat
UH-Hilo 3-1 in the first game of a split doubleheader today at Central
Oahu Regional Park in Pacific West Conference play. The Vulcans came back
to take the evening contest 7-1.
St. George, UT—The top-ranked Brigham Young University
Hawaii women’s tennis team won the Pacific West Conference championship
today by defeating Hawaii Pacific 5-1 at the Hawaiian Airlines Pacific
West Conference Tournament. The Seasiders took two of the three doubles
matches and then picked up wins in three singles matches as they improved
to 25-0 for the season and won for the 85th consecutive time.

Laie, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii softball team lost
both ends of a Pacific West Conference doubleheader today on a muddy field
to UH-Hilo. The Seasiders dropped the first game, which was interrupted
twice by rain, 7-3, and the second game 3-1.
St. George, UT—The top-ranked Brigham Young University
Hawaii women’s tennis team breezed past Chaminade today with a 9-0
sweep in the second round of the Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West Conference
Tournament. The Seasiders, who received a first-round bye in the tournament
as the top seed, won every match in straight sets as they improved to 24-0
for the season and won for the 84th consecutive time.
St. George, UT—The number-one-ranked Brigham Young
University Hawaii women’s tennis team dominated two Pacific West
Conference opponents today, defeating Grand Canyon 6-0 in the morning and
then overwhelming Notre Dame de Namur 7-0 in the afternoon to improve to
23-0 for the season. The Seasiders swept every match that was completed
in the two wins and were leading in all the other matches when play was
halted by agreement. The wins put the current BYU–Hawaii winning
streak at 83 dual matches.
St. George, UT—The number one-ranked Brigham Young
University Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated Dixie State today,
9-0, to improve to 21-0 for the season. The Seasiders breezed to the win,
losing only two doubles games and taking all six singles matches in straight
sets. The win was the 81st consecutive dual match win for BYU–Hawaii.

Kaneohe, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii softball team lost
both ends of a Pacific West Conference doubleheader today to conference
leader Hawaii Pacific. The Seasiders dropped the first game 11-3 and the
second 11-2.

Lose Twice
Kaneohe, HI—The Brigham Young University Hawaii softball team dropped
a pair of Pacific West Conference games today to conference leader Hawaii
Pacific but put a scare into the Sea Warriors in the first game. Hawaii
Pacific had to rally for two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take
a 4-3 win in the opener. The Sea Warriors won the second game 8-0.
Pensacola, FL—The top-ranked Brigham Young University
Hawaii women’s tennis team defeated fourth-ranked Valdosta State
today, 7-1, to improve to a perfect 20-0 for the season. The Seasiders
swept all three doubles matches and took four of the five completed singles
matches to extend their current winning streak to an even 80 matches.
Pensacola, FL—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s
tennis team suffered their second defeat of the season today, losing
8-1 to second-ranked Valdosta State. The Seasiders, now 8-2 for the season,
claimed an upset win at the top doubles slot and played well at several
other positions against the powerful Blazers.

Hawaii women’s tennis team faced their toughest test of the season
today and powered their way to a 7-2 victory over 16th-ranked West Florida
in a match that was suspended by rain on April 1st. The Seasiders took
two of the three doubles matches and then won five of the six singles matches
to claim the win as they improved to 19-0 for the season and extended their
current winning streak to 79 matches.
Mobile, AL—The top-ranked Brigham Young University
Hawaii women’s tennis team blasted their way to any easy win on the
road today as they defeated Tuskegee 9-0 to improve to 18-0 for the season.
The Seasiders lost only two games in the three doubles matches and two
games in the six singles matches as they won their 78th in a row in their
latest winning streak.
Mobile, AL—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis
team defeated Tuskegee today 9-0 to improve to 8-1 for the season. The
Seasiders swept the three doubles matches with ease and won all six singles
matches in straight sets for the win.
