| Things to be aware of when mailing:
1. Any domestic mail over 13 oz. is automatically priority if
sending by air, so please do not stamp 1st class on them.
2. Do not stamp air mail on domestic mail.
3. All packages containing anything other than papers to International
countries need custom forms. Green if 4 lbs. & under, white
if over 4 lbs.
4. Classify what type of service for each piece of mail when
sent with student workers.
5. Make sure that there is a complete name or a dept. & a
proper return address on all mail, and that they are sorted into
the following categories:
a. BYUH campus mail & TVA.
b. Laie address
c. All United States including the rest of Hawaii.
d. All International by countries.
6. If dept. has more than one account, please specify which
one to charge postage to.
7. If you need to return a parcel to sender that you have already
opened, the postage will be charged to you, or, to your account
if it’s a department, and it needs to be addressed properly.
However, if it hasn’t been opened there is no charge and
you don’t need to readdress it, just write refused and
return it to us.
8. Please make sure everything is taped, sealed and addressed
properly before sending it in.
9. If reusing an old box or an envelope please make sure that
any writings or bar code on it are crossed off completely with
a permanent black marker.
10. Do not use regular priority envelopes or boxes for International
mail. However we do have global priority envelopes, and boxes
for certain International countries. Not all countries qualify
for global priority service, so please check first with the workers
at the window.
11. To avoid returned mail for more postage I suggest that you
bring your piece of mail in to be weighed first before putting
stamps on it.
