Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

1st and 2nd year undergraduate students who are Pell-eligible U.S. citizens who are enrolled full-time, and who took rigorous secondary coursework while in High School, MAY be eligible for an ACG of $750 or $1,300 respectively.  This is in addition to Pell funds.

Pell-eligible Legal Permanent Residents and U.S. Nationals are NOT eligible for the ACG.

1st year students cannot have previously enrolled as a regular undergraduate student.

2nd year students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.  BYU-Hawaii determines CGPA eligibility after the end of the winter semester, for the next school year.  Spring term grades cannot be used in determining ACG Grant eligibility.

Students who completed the FAFSA after July 1, 2006 are automatically considered for the ACG.  Students who completed the FAFSA prior to July 1, 2006, may want to make corrections to their FAFSA if they self-determine that they are eligible for the ACG.
