SERVICE - LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES


These are Service Learning Opportunities which can be used in the appropriate curriculum to help students apply learning and benefit to our local community

"Come join BYUH students and faculty, members of the community and the military to help beautify and renovate Kahuku High School on Make A Difference Day, Saturday, October 28th.From 8:00 to 11:00 AM

Help paint and fix up the school and grounds. Many fun projects to work on. This will be filmed as a documentary for BYUTV. Come and take part in this fun day. Show the Aloha sprit of BYUH.

The Hawaii Center for Independent Living is looking for students to help coach their students in preparation for the Special Olympics. This could be ideal for students in Exercise and Sports Sciences, and is a great opportunity to make a difference. They need volunteers to help them work on their bowling, and other sporting events. KAHUKU HOSPITAL Social Work Department:
* Creating a brochure
* Creating a website
* Fundraising/grant writing
* Translation services (translating documents, verbal, etc.)
* Cleaning/ painting/ maintenance, etc.
* Assist with various activities (i.e. read to patients, play games, etc.)
