FAQ
How do I get a BYU-Hawaii music group to perform at my event/stake/festival/fireside?First, make sure you know the specifics about your event - the date, time, budget issues, venue availability and location, etc. Then simply contact us (insert link for email address) and see if the dates match up. Our university performers are anxious to get out and perform as much as possible. It provides the event-organizer/listener with uplifting entertainment that can be trusted and in turn provides the student with an opportunity to share their talents and gain performance experience.
What groups are available to perform?
(1) Concert Choir: the university's premier SATB ensemble,
(2) Jazz Ensemble: a big-band style jazz orchestra,
(3) Shaka Steel Band: the Caribbean-style steel drum ensemble, and
(4) Brass Band: the above-standard brass orchestra; one of the university's oldest performing groups.
What costs are associated with bringing one of the groups to perform for my function?
Our university performance groups are more than affordable. There is a small performance fee that goes toward paying the cost of transportation, but we are happy to work with anyone on a case-by-case basis in order to make it possible to perform at your event. Whether it's a fireside, concert, or festival, we will do all we can to share the spirit of 'aloha' found in the BYU-Hawaii performing arts.
