The information literacy program team oversees and supports the BYU-H information literacy requirement and program. A primary purpose of the information literacy program is to enable students to achieve information literacy competency as defined by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Standards for Information Literacy Competency for Higher Education.

The information literacy program is offered through subject specific/course integrated instruction and general orientation sessions. Instruction is delivered in traditional settings and online. The Information literacy team is committed to instruction that respects the diversity of learners and learning styles, emphasizes active learning and incorporates the latest trends in available technology and pedagogical approaches.

The information literacy program is designed and implemented by the information literacy team. The team consists of library faculty. All activities are designed with learning outcomes and priority outcomes are regularly assessed. Assessment information is used to continually revise and improve teaching and learning.
