As part of BYU-Hawaii's 50th golden jubilee, the David O. McKay Center for Intercultural Understanding presents the University Seminar series focusing on community educational development and BYU-Hawaii:
An Influence for Peace:
Bringing the Founding Vision Home to Laie
President McKay expanded the horizons of our vision half a century ago and charged us with a task of global proportions. It might be easy to forget, however, that for any individual, the world begins locally. In these seminars, we look at the issue of educational development needs in Laie and ways that the University community can contribute to the improvements of current conditions.
Each of the following seminars will be presented on a Thursday at 2 p.m. in Aloha Center 135:
- February 24, Vonn Logan, LDS Employment Services:
LDS Employment Services and Educational Development.
- March 24, Dr. Peter Hanohano:
Educational Needs in Laie.
- April 7, Asai and Keawe Gilman, Education 1st:
Secondary Student Development in Laie.
- May 5, Directions and Possibilities:
Discussion of possible contributions of faculty and University departments to educational development in Laie.
