IMUA is the project name of a new software system purchased from Oracle PeopleSoft that the Board of Trustees has approved as an upgrade from Datatel. The new system will consolidate data from various areas on campus and will improve communication between departments. IMUA will have a significant impact on everyone, including administrators, faculty, staff and students because it will hold information that most campus users will need to access. IMUA will-

  • Create seamlessly connected applications
  • Increase the number of transactions available online
  • Make access to data easier
  • Enhance ability to summarize, track and analyze data
  • Improve database quality and controls
  • Save cost on printing and postage
  • Improve communication
  • Promote Interdepartmental dependence and independence

IMUA in Hawaiian means to move forward, advance, or progress. The name was chosen for the project because it represents our goal to move ahead and reflects the Aloha spirit of our island home. IMUA is also used as an acronym to represent the principles we want to accomplish throughout the implementation of this project.
