Under Dr. Duane Roberts, Director of Communications and Public Relations, our experienced team of creative and technical professionals plan and produce high quality visual, written and multi-media products, then print, publish, broadast or otherwise disseminate them to effectively communicate the University's messages. Audio Services
...is responsible for setting up, effectively operating and striking audio reinforcement for a wide variety of University and other functions throughout the campus — including concerts, lyceums, sporting events, talent shows, forums, banquets, graduations, Church conferences, firesides, etc. — (except in the McKay Auditorium); and maintaining and upgrading the audio equipment. Campus Cable Television
...operates the Seasider Cable Network, which includes five BYU-Hawaii channels — including devotionals, 16 commercial channels relayed via Oceanic Cablevision, and six FM radio channels. Lighting Services
...arranges theatrical lighting for University activities in the Cannon Activities Center (CAC) and the McKay or Little Theater (LT), as well as some off-campus events and the weekend movies in the McKay Auditorium — but not lighting in the Auditorium or the Aloha Center Ballroom. Teleprompter Services
...provides the equipment and operator for teleprompted speech deliveries on campus. For additional information...
Broadcast Creative Services
...operates the BYU-Hawaii TV studio and production services, and is responsible for videotaping many events on campus, at the Polynesian Cultural Center and in the community; then editing or otherwise electronically preparing the results for playback and use in a wide variety of situations, for broadcast,or for other promotional uses. Editorial Services
...works with many people and departments on campus to collect and generate the written content of flyers, brochures, advertising, web pages, programs, displays, the Alumni eNewsletter, BYU-Hawaii Magazine, and a wide variety of other projects. Contact Elder Robert Parchman, (808) 293-3948.
Graphics and Design
...teams with numerous people and departments on campus — including Photographic and Editorial Services, and other University Advancement staff — to create and execute design concepts for a wide variety of promotional purposes, including brochures, flyers, programs, web pages, advertising, electronic signatures, displays, BYU-Hawaii Magazine and other University-related communications. Photography
...captures and maintains collections of still images of a wide variety of University functions, events, individuals and visitors, to be used in illustrating numerous collateral products as well as archived for historical purposes. Contact Monique Saenz, University Photographer, (808) 293-3494.
Identity and Content
...maintains the communications integrity of the University by working with all departments to consistently and appropriately use approved design elements — including designated colors, fonts, layouts, logos, phrasing and designs — in media content and all other forms of institutional identity. Performance Tours and Booking
...manages the booking (in conjunction with the Fine Arts Department), travel and logistics planning for various BYU-Hawaii performing groups, including the Jazz Ensemble, the Brass Band, the Concert Choir and Shaka Steel; and ensures the students enjoy professional and educational experiences while on the road. Public and Media Relations
