Scheduling Policy: Private Use of Ballroom

 

  1. The BYUH Ballroom may be scheduled for private use, according to established procedures and priorities.  Use of ballroom, unless otherwise specified, includes normal use of the restrooms in the Aloha Center.  It does not include use of the Aloha Center Mall as an extension of the activity.

    Sunday                                     No private events may be scheduled

    Mondays                                              7am–6pm

    Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays       7am–9pm

    Fridays                                     7am–7pm *(after 7am is reserved for student

                                                                activities)

    Saturdays                                             7am-7pm

     

    NOTE:  Groups that do not leave (after having cleaned up) by the scheduled time will be asked to leave by Security and fined $50 per ½ hour.

  2. It may be scheduled according to the following days and times:

Events with more than 150 people expected require one BYUH Security officer and one Honolulu Police Department officer (all HPD must be scheduled through BYUH Security).  Events with more than 400 people expected require two BYUH Security officers and two HPD officers.  The private party will pay for the services of both BYUH Security and HPD.
  4. The following are Not allowed on campus (this includes in the event, outside the event, the parking lot and grassy areas, and all other areas on campus):  alcohol; kava; smoking; illegal drugs; weapons of any kind; swearing or vulgar language or taking the name of God in vain (including lyrics to music); or lewd or indecent language, dancing, or gestures.
  5. All guests to campus are expected to show respect for other people and property, pick up their own trash, park only in designated areas, wear modest clothing (even dance costumes must be of modest cut and fit), and follow the directions of Security officers, custodians, and other university officials.
