The
programs of the Jonathan Nāpela
Center for Hawaiian Language and Cultural Studies in language,
history, culture,
medicine,
healing, art,
music, hula, land stewardship, ocean stewardship, family relationship,
and genealogy complement the mission of the University as the
host culture that focus on Gospel-centered principles as the piko or
central force that connect all of our programs. |
There is a profound relationship between
all elements of our Hawaiian Studies program and the Spirit of
the Lord and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In all areas of Hawaiian
cultural expression this relationship teaches, nurtures, and
enhances the values of the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. |
