Scholarship and Financial Awards

Eligibility

1.  Major in a field of study within the Division of Exercise and Sport Science.
2.  Be enrolled as a full-time student, and must have completed a minimum of two (2) semesters at BYU-Hawaii.
3.  Must have taken a minimum of two (2) core classes not inclusive of Sport Fundamental Classes.
4.  Demonstrate academic strength with satisfactory scholarship progress or potential.  A 3.0 GPA is the minimal requirement for a financial award, and a 3.5 for a Scholarship award.
5.  Demonstrate professional leadership and service in the division and or community.

Application Criteria

Students must provide the following:
1.  A typewritten application.
2  A typewritten personal letter describing:
    a.  Your educational goals (short and long term)
    b.  Statement of commitment to Exercise and Sport Science and the specific field in which you have chosen to major.
    c.  Statement of why you feel you should be selected for this financial award.
3.  Official transcript of all courses taken thus far.
4.  Three (3) letters of reccommendation, one at least from a Exercise and Sport Science faculty.

Award Status

1. Department will determine the amount of the award.
2.  Be expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the entire term of the Award.
3.  Be able to reapply yearly.
